Jamming with Jamberry

Tired of messy nail polish?

Tired of accidentally knocking it over and making a mess (that maybe just me :) )

I got the privilege to try Jamberry Nail Shields by Becky.

I can not grow my finger nails to save my life.  Mostly because I tend to bite them or clip them.  I know. If I want nails I have to buy them.  Which is very costly. Very.

I don't do nail polish- well- I don't do it well lol.

I'm too impatient- I can't wait for it to dry and I always make a mess and smear it.

This is where Jamberry is a life saver.  I will put this disclosure out there- I do not own a nail file, I can't stand to use them, so my attempt did not turn out as well as yours will.

But still- I think they are lovely.

The application process is quick and easy and the most high tech gadget you need is a hair dryer.  I've posted pictures below.

Very sweet note from Becky with the samples.  Thanks Becky!

Very easy and straight forward application and removal instructions.  Step by step and very easy to follow.

Okay, these are some cute samples. Let's see how far you can get with one!

First nail down.

It literally took me about a minute.

Like I said- I don't own a nail file so I can't do the fine cleaning up of the sides like I should be able to but still, I am please with how these came out in the (maybe) 5 minutes it took me to apply them.  One nail shield was enough for me to complete all four nails.  I have been told by friends who have tried them that they last anywhere from 2-3 weeks or longer depending on how well you apply them.

Here are the nail shields I will be trying next!

DIY Potent Cellulite Cream Tutorial

A Seriously Potent Homemade Cellulite Cream

Written by 24 comments
Homemade cellulite cream

Ladies, it’s time for a full-body detox.
No, I don’t mean that kind of detox.
In fact, this cleanse won’t leave you hungry and you don’t have to drink one single gulp of green sludge.
Instead, we’re going to work from the outside-in to rid your skin of gnarly cellulite dimples and have you beach body ready in a few short weeks.
We already know that cellulite is formed by fat deposits and toxins resting beneath your skin. Increased circulation helps flush these toxins and stimulate cell turnover for healthier looking skin.
We’ve gone over stimulating body scrubssensuous massage techniques and even a fewcellulite-solving physical exercises, so now it’s time to really bring it all home.
To help get the most out of your new anti cellulite routine, I’m going to show you how to make a potent homemade cellulite cream.
This cream is rich with ingredients that nourish, moisturize, stimulate and effect your skin from the cellular level, right to the outermost layer.
So let’s get to it, shall we?

Homemade Cellulite Cream

All you need to make this badass homemade cellulite cream is a few essential oils and a base:
  • 3/4 cup Coconut Oil
  • 2 tablespoons shaved Beeswax
  • 3 tablespoons Witch Hazel
  • 10 drops Juniper oil
  • 10 drops Rosemary oil
  • 30 drops Grapefruit oil
  • 30 drops Cypress oil
Once you have all your ingredients together, the process is simple:
Step 1 – Start by mixing together all of your essential oils and your witch hazel. Stir until evenly blended.
Step 2 – Over low heat, melt your beeswax then add in your coconut oil, if it is not liquid yet.
Step 3 – Once your beeswax and coconut oil is liquified, add it to your essential oil bowl and blend.
Step 4 – Pour contents into a resealable jar and store in a cool, dry place.

Why This Homemade Cellulite Cream Works

This homemade cellulite cream is powerfully potent thanks to the amazing essential oils.
I know what you must be thinking – how the heck can oils help to eliminate cellulite?
Well, for starters, Juniper is a diuretic and purifier while also being a great circulation stimulator.
Rosemary is essential for increasing blood flow throughout the body which significantly reduces the appearance of cellulite over time. It is also good for flushing your lymphatic system and helping with water retention.
Cyprus and grapefruit essential oils are both effective towards increasing circulation, relieving fluid retention and flushing toxins from your skin.
Witch hazel is another crucial ingredient for helping refine and tighten your skin, and having a more even-toned surface will deflect some of the visual effects of cellulite.
In time, the firming benefits of witch hazel will play an even bigger role in diminishing cellulite permanently.
Beeswax and coconut oil are both easily absorbed into your skin and help to infuse much needed moisture and simply makes for a great cream base.
This brilliant cream is great to use when you’re using my massage techniques to knead away nasty fat deposits.
To get the most of this cream, use it twice daily; once in the morning and once before bed.
Even better, use it right after your shower so your pores are ready, willing and able to absorb this luxurious treat and heal itself.
Firmly massage this cream into your skin to stimulate it even more.
This is quite possibly the most dazzling anti-cellulite remedy I’ve come up with yet!
Prep time and application only take minutes but the benefits are riveting.
So what are you waiting for?
Embrace your inner DIY diva, mix up your own homemade cellulite cream and get ready to fascinate your friends with your outrageous anti-cellulite results!
Can you tell I’m excited about this remedy? *happy wiggles *

Gluten-Free Recipe: Pesto-Mushroom Fettuccine

http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-9414/gluten-free-recipe-pesto-mushroom-fettuccine.html

This was a dish I invented after seeing something similar at The Conscious Cafe in Byron Bay. It's super healthy, so easy to make and tastes absolutely delicious (as many of our friends who've had it will tell you).

My hubby has now claimed this as his dish. He likes to cook for friends and family, and we love to cook together with a glass of red wine and a chance to catch up on each other's day.

Ingredients:
  • 30 small mushrooms of your choosing
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Chilis (as many or as a little as you want)
  • Mixed herbs of your choosing (try thyme, rosemary and parsley for starters)
  • Coconut oil
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • Frozen peas
  • 16 oz. Mung Bean fettuccine
  • Pesto (jar or fresh) to taste
  • Option to add Chicken (free range tenderloins), cook on bbq or grill if possible
Chop onion into small chunks and fry with some coconut oil.

Add the mixed herbs and fry together; add the garlic and chilis and cook for another five mins.

Add mushrooms, chopped in half (keep them big and they'll absorb all the flavors). Cook for another 10 mins, then add pesto (around half a jar or pot, can add more later if it needs it), add 2 tablespoons.

Cook it all together for 15 minutes, then add frozen peas and baby spinach near the end. If you want to add the chicken, cut it in small pieces and add to sauce.

Boil fettuccine for 5 mins, then drain and add to pan, stir and make sure the sauce covers everything. Grate Parmesan on top and enjoy.

Why I Love My Mother.....(one reason among many)

If anyone was to ask me the parent I take after, it would be my Mom. We haven't always had the best relationship but I always know that when I go to her she will see where I am coming from...even if she tells me the way I see things, is the head up my ass view...

I recently got inducted into a Professional Fraternity Association of which has a chapter on my Campus. It was the most harrowing day of my life but so worth it, and afterwards we went........of course...to the mall.

Earlier in the week we had been discussing Nookers getting in the trash can, and in true Mom fashion, she told in me Yoda, that I was mistaken...

And the following conversation is why I love my Mother:

Me: I made it! I am exhausted, but I made it!
Mom: Congratulations!

(At this point there is a 4 ft tall Lego Yoda in the Lego Store display so I send it to my mom)

Me: Why are you in the Austin Mall?
Mom:Very funny yes you are!
Me: OMG lol, I love you mom
Mom: Love you I do
Me: You're right, that wasn't a bag of shoes in your hand, that couldn't be you
Mom: Shoes' love them I do...bought 2 pair today I did

(For those of you who don't know my mom, she literally owns like 200 pairs of shoes)
(at this point i send her two pictures of the shoe WALL at Forever 21)

Me: You win the most awesome mom ever award
Mom: OMG! Where are you and why aren't I there?
Me: LOL, I was in forever 21 in the Brush Creek Mall in Austin
Mom: Why do I win that?
Me: Cause only my mom would text in Yoda. They have a Michael Kors here...apparently according to the other girls that's impressive. I think they are just ugly purses.
Mom: OMG! Michael Kors! I LOVE his stuff! He is a judge on Project Runway!
Me: Yeah...there is one of this stores here and an apple store...
Mom: You are very wrong yes you are...think you not the purses are ugly...
Me: Trying to use the force on me mom....really?
Mom: The accessories for is strong with me..ummmm yes very strong indeed.

Awesome mom of the year award.....hands down....
