Jamming with Jamberry

Tired of messy nail polish?

Tired of accidentally knocking it over and making a mess (that maybe just me :) )

I got the privilege to try Jamberry Nail Shields by Becky.

I can not grow my finger nails to save my life.  Mostly because I tend to bite them or clip them.  I know. If I want nails I have to buy them.  Which is very costly. Very.

I don't do nail polish- well- I don't do it well lol.

I'm too impatient- I can't wait for it to dry and I always make a mess and smear it.

This is where Jamberry is a life saver.  I will put this disclosure out there- I do not own a nail file, I can't stand to use them, so my attempt did not turn out as well as yours will.

But still- I think they are lovely.

The application process is quick and easy and the most high tech gadget you need is a hair dryer.  I've posted pictures below.

Okay, these are some cute samples. Let's see how far you can get with one!

First nail down. 

It literally took me about a minute. 

Like I said- I don't own a nail file so I can't do the fine cleaning up of the sides like I should be able to but still, I am please with how these came out in the (maybe) 5 minutes it took me to apply them.  One nail shield was enough for me to complete all four nails.  I have been told by friends who have tried them that they last anywhere from 2-3 weeks or longer depending on how well you apply them.

Fun Day Friday-

A friend of mine recently suggested that we have fun on Friday by messing with a friend of hers who happens to be a guy. I would text him pretending to be a girl he met the weekend before that he had given his number too, as she had actually hung out with him the weekend before she would provide me with the details that I needed to convince him he had actually met me.

What could go wrong.....right?

Well this turned out to be an interesting social experiment!

It started off with me texting him on Friday....I described myself as a blonde (I'm a red head) with short blonde hair, freckles and I was wearing khaki shorts and a green top...talking about where I had seen him,  what had happened...the whole nine.....

Then it got funny....

Are you ready for the funny part?

FROM THEN ON I WAS JUST MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than the fabricated details of our alleged "meeting" everything we exchanged...was me....in all my BBW glory, although ironically, size was never mentioned in our conversations....

Even my friend agreed that he seemed "interested". (Please remember this was all suppose to be in fun).

By the end of the weekend found us still chatting via text my friend Michelle (yeah that's not her name LOL) decided to come clean, that it was going too far. 

He wasn't upset, he even said he thought it was funny and to quote "too good to be true".

I was slightly insulted....albeit some would have taken that as a compliment....I was true! Everything I said was me...I faked nothing...I was just myself...

She explained this to him and even told him he'd met me before....I'm not sure if he remembered me or not...there's no telling. I heard from him up until yesterday. I haven't heard from him today. He's probably at work....maybe he'll text me later....neither one of us has mentioned that we both know it was a joke and that I'm not the blonde he thinks I am....

(This is not the blonde you are looking for...........)

So the next time I go there to hang out is going to be interesting....wonder if he'll remember me then!

This was never meant to be anything other than a joke and if nothing else we had a blast!

A Cheating Joke-

A man called home to his wife and said, "Honey I have been asked to go fishing up in Canada with my boss & several of his Friends. We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity for me to get that Promotion I've been wanting, so could you please pack enough Clothes for a week and set out my rod and fishing box, we're leaving from the office & I will swing by the house to pick my things up" "Oh! Please pack my new blue silk pajamas."

The wife thinks this sounds a bit fishy but being the good wife she is, did exactly what her husband asked. The following Weekend he came home a little tired but
otherwise looking good. The wife welcomed him home and asked if he caught many fish? He said, "Yes! Lots of Salmon, some Bluegill, and a few Swordfish. But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to Do?"

The wife replied, "I did..... They were in your fishing box asshole.

Botanical Gardens

I miss my membership to the Botanical Gardens....I think since it is starting to get warm again I will get it another one. It's only $40 for a couple.....totally do-able...this is one of the pictures I took last time I was there.

How To Make 3 Lavender Laundry Essentials- Lavendar DIY

This is a great post from Rebecca from Camp Wander which reveals…

1. How to make a year’s worth of laundry soap for just $30.
2. How to make a lavender and vinegar softener.
3. How to make a lavender dryer ball.

These three tutorials will make your laundry FUN to do, it will be much cheaper and more natural, too!

One of my favorite presentationsfor sharing (and it's likely you'll share too) are 1/2 gal mason jars.  I found mine at Ace Hardware. You can also find them at Kmart and Wal Mart. 

Laundry Essential #1

1 Box of Washing Soda
1 Box of Borax
3 Bars of Felsnaptha Soap
2 Tubs of Oxygenated Bleach
2 Cups Baking Soda

Grate soap in a food processor or blender w/ a little powdered bleach.  Jillee's right...it helps the processing go a little smoother.

Now for the fun part!  

Start dumping your boxes of ingredients and the processed soap into a very large tub and mix.  I would suggest you do this outside because it's a dry mix.  You'll have a bit of flyaway powder while mixing.  I enlisted my favorite garden trug for the task!

Now you can fill those awesome jars with your ridiculously easy and affordable#1 Laundry Essential ~ the detergent.

Laundry Essential #2 is a new and exciting discovery for me! 

How easy is this?

Purchase a one quart glass bottle of white vinegar, add 25 drops of doTERRA Lavender essential oil + 1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol (for emulsion).  You now have a quart of naturally softening fabric softener!  Good for your skin, good for your appliance and good for the planet!  

Pour 1/2 cup into the rinse cycle or into a fabric softener receptacle and start the wash cycle.

Laundry Essential #3 is easy, fun and practical.  The Lavender Dryer Ball, is made with a pair of crew socks.  Your list of provisions for lovelier laundry includes:  a pair of clean cotton crew socks and a bottle of doTERRA Lavender essential oil.  This is almost too easy blog about!

Drop 15 to 20 drops of Lavender essential oil onto the foot section of {one} sock.  Ahhhhhh...just imagine how your fresh, clean laundry's going to smell!

Now tuck scented sock up inside the tube section of the same sock.  Push  this balled up sock down into the toe of the second sock.  Twist the second sock to adda little bulk to the Dry Ball...then pull the opening of the sock down onto itself until you have a tight ball.  The tighter the better because in addition toscenting your laundry, the Dryer Ball will fluff the load of laundry too!

 * Two Dryer Balls would be absolutely brilliant for fluffing and fresheningpillows in the dryer *

Random Picture Time!

Monster Cookie Dough Dip~KIDS PARTY DIP~

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup butter, slightly softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 ½ cups rolled oats, old fashioned or quick (see Note)
2/3 cup plain M&Ms (give or take)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

With a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese, butter, and peanut butter until smooth.
Add in the powdered sugar, brown sugar, flour, and vanilla.
Using the paddle attachment on your stand mixer or just a wooden spoon, mix in the oats. You may want to use more or less here. I really like the oats in it and a thicker dip so I added a lot. Remember that the dip will also firm up a bit in the fridge.
Add the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
Store in the refrigerator until serving. Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, or apple slices. You can dip or spread this depending on how thick you made your dip.

A joke

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen
mask over his mouth and nose. A young student nurse appears and
gives him a partial sponge bath.

"Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?"

Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only
here to wash your upper body and feet."

He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my
testicles black?"

Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate
from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment
and pulls back the covers.
She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles
gently in the other.

She looks very closely and says, "There's nothing wrong with them,
Sir. They look fine."

The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says
very slowly, "Thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen
